Recreational Programs
All Snowboard Yukon coached programs are based in progression.
Athletes and riders must be looking to progress their skills in a goal-based, coached-supported environment.
All Snowboard Yukon coached programs are athlete-centered.
Our goal is for every athlete to feel supported in their progression. All programs can be customized to fit an athlete’s personal goals and realities. To create your personalized training plan contact Head Coach Esa or Technical Director Mary.
Snowboard Yukon’s on-snow programs are organized into two streams – Competitive and Recreational.

2026 Whitehorse Shredders
Shredders is designed for young riders to learn the basics of snowboarding in a team environment, setting them up for future success in our higher level programs. Shredders is both a recreational and competitive program, introducing athletes to the competitive disciplines in freestyle and speed as well as recreational freeriding and technical skill development. Weekly training is presented by coaches trained under the Canadian Snowboard Coaching Program (CSCP) and Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors (CASI).
Shredders train in skill-based groups. The coaches will determine which group suits you best on the first day of training. Athletes generally spend 2-3 years in the Shredders program before moving on the Freeriders or the Comp Team.
Shredders are encouraged to participate with their teammates in fun speed and freestyle events on select Sundays during the season. Coaching at Yukon Champs is also included in the program.
